I am Darkwing Duck!!

Drake Mallard - Alias: Darkwing Duck

Drake Mallard by day, Darkwing Duck by night. DW is a crimefighting duck. His attire consists of a purple coat and mask, and a black fedora. When he's being Drake Mallard he dresses in a pink shirt with a green plaid sweater vest. You know Darwing's night job, so what about his day job? He spends his time at home with his adopted daughter, Gosalyn Waddlemeyer Mallard. She comes upfront and first in DW's life. Also, he spends time with his somewhat girlfriend, Morgana McCawber. Not much is actually disclosed about Darkwing's character in the cartoon. His age applies to this. He is probably in his mid- to late thirties.

Gosalyn

Gosalyn Waddlemeyer is Darkwing's adopted daughter. She is nine years old, and like any nine year old, she is full of energy and kick. Very, very rarely is her red hair not worn up in two pigtails. She is somewhat of a tomboy and is always wearing a purple jersey (#1) and a pair of sneakers. She was adopted by DW after her parents died. Her grandfather, the late Professor Waddlemeyer (who cared for her before his own death), was an inventor. She is DW's most prized possession (it's quite touching, as a matter of fact).

Launchpad

Launchpad McQuack is Darkwing's faithful sidekick. He is approximately in his mid-thirties, the show never mentions this as a fact. He is a tall, broad-shouldered, redhead. He has a cleft in his chin. He is always dressed as if he were going to fly a plane - an aviator. Well, technically he is a pilot, but he doesn't fly much. He is known to crash vehicles, though, so it is best that he doesn't pilate much. He originally debuted as a regular on a somewhat adjacent cartoon called "Duck Tales", featuring Scrooge McDuck, and Huey, Louis, and Dewey (also one of my favorite cartoons). Between the transition, he somehow managed to become, let's say, dumber. I suppose this was so as to not draw away from DW and keep him as the most intelligent character since it is his show.

Honker

Herbert "Honker" Muddlefoot, Junior, is the son of Herbert and Binkie Muddlefoot, Darkwing's annoying neighbors. He is Gosalyn's best friend and playmate. He is nerdy/brainy (you choose) and actually very cute. He is potentially Gosalyn's boyfriend. He is also nine and a very smart in math and science and is a particularly good artist. He stutters under pressure, is easily persuaded, and is incapable of lying. I suppose he evens out his and Gosalyn's relationship with his qualities since he is almost the exact opposite of her.

Morgana

Morgana McCawber is DW's so-called girlfriend. I don't think it's ever been official, but they appear to be very fond of each other. I assume she is around the same age as Darkwing. Her look is quite unique - mystic, exotic, with a "bride-of-frankenstein" do. She, at one time, was DW's enemy (apparently, he won her over with his stunning good looks... or maybe it was the other way around. She does have that "evil" look to her, like she is up to no good, so I can see how she was once a nemesis). She runs her own restaurant, which Darkwing doesn't care much for (shame). Her looks go hand-in-hand with her personality - strange, opposing emotions (confident and calm; insecure and tempermental), nocturnal, and a love of bats, spiders, etc.

Villians

Bushroot

Dr. Reginald Bushroot is maybe the most unique character on the show. For starters, he's a duck/plant. Presumably, he did not happen into this condition on his own. He, like MegaVolt, was unfortunate during one of his experiments. He is a scientist, a plant scientist to be more exact. His weapon of choice is his ability to manipulate plants and concoct foliage-based potions. He has the ability to abnormally extend his arms like vines. His worst fear is a lawn mower, though he is able to repair himself even after multiple mowings. My personal opinion of why he is so "nasty" is his lack of affection. He's mostly mad over getting attention than over money, power, etc. He has crushed on Dr. Rhoda Dendron (shown above left with Bushroot before his mutation), with no avail. She was probably his most friendly coworker, but it seemed she was more kind out of pity than actual liking. He is a lonesome poor fellow. His best friend is a huge venus fly trap/dog named Spike. He was most likely driven crazy by his workmates at the St. Canard University science lab, where he was made fun of. His story is actually quite sad. He never really wanted to be a villain. His original intentions were good - to allow ducks to live from sunlight, like plants, which went bad. He has been known to occasionally team up with Darkwing during some cases, but this is never a permanent collaboration.

NegaDuck

Well, NegaDuck's "real" name has never been mentioned. But, considering the striking likeness that he has to DW, it is presumable that his name is also Drake Mallard . . . or maybe Mallard Drake. He looks like Darkwing in every way, except for his costume. Unlike DW, Nega is never seen without his costume. Their personalities are quite different, also. Nega is all about causing chaos. He is most often who DW is seen trying to diminish. It makes sense that Nega is probably the same age as DW. There are many theories as to why he looks so much like DW - he could be DW's evil twin brother, DW's opposite from the Negaverse . . . or is it just a coincidental likeness? He is NegaGosalyn's (yes, NegaGosalyn) guardian. Nega can be easily titled as Darkwing's most dangerous enemy.

The original NegaDuck was Darkwing's evil side. He was made entirely of negatrons, not feathers. Nega first appeared as in the picture above right - more molecular than a real duck.

Liquidator

Bud Flud, otherwise known as the Liquidator, was once human like most of the other transformed villians. He holds Darkwing responsible for his current condition - a mass of water with the ability to take on any form of choice, but mostly appears in the shape of a dog. He started out as a bottled water salesman, caught in the act of filling a competitors water vat with chemicals, DW catches him and causes Bud to fall into the vat. Everywhere the Liquidator goes, he is followed by a group of women singing jingles (they really have nothing to do with the story besides providing Liqui with confidence and praise) who dress as different water related materials (bottles, fish, etc.). He speaks constantly like a commercial announcer. The chemicals and his circumstances made him even more "money-hungry" than before. He refers to himself in third-person voice. He is weak when it comes to being around sponges, quick-dry cement mix, and the constant chance of being frozen.

MegaVolt

Elmo Sputterspark, known as MegaVolt, was a former schoolmate of DW's. This would also make him around the same age as Darkwing. Like most everything else on the show, it is not specifically mentioned what type of species he is, but judging by his nose and teeth, it is intelligent to conclude he is a rat or mouse or rodent of some sort. His "get-up" is a yellow electricians jumpsuit, blue goggles, a battery backpack, and a hat resembling a powerplug. He has an odd obsession for voltage power and is known for electrocuting his enemies. He has to be given credit for his brainy knowledge of science. He has the ability to cause blackouts, control household appliances, and travel through electrical currents. He is an inventor and maker of his own weapons (smart guy). Mega is in his current crazy, nervous/hyper condition because of a school science project that went bad. He was the very first enemy Darkwing recruited which makes him the show's first recurring nemesis.

Quakerjack

Quakerjack is, once again, the product of an accidental incident. Well, actually, he wasn't run out of business accidentally, but his insanity was not a planned after-affect. He was the proud owner of his own toy shop. He couldn't have been a happier man . . . until Whiffle Boy took it all away. Unlike most of the other characters, Quaky's real name is not known. He keeps company with Mr. Banana-Brain (seen above), who is a tad bit creepy in my personal opinion. Quaker is a jokester, often laughing at inappropriate times. He entertains himself by making fun of the other characters and villians. He makes his own weapons, mostly toys, like the notorious novelty "chatter teeth."

You are Bushroot!
You are, to put it bluntly, a wimp. A powerful mutant wimp, maybe, but still a wimp. Your first instinct is to run from the good guys, and you probably wouldn't even be a supervillain if you were able to find a few friends.
